To illustrate the artistic potential of everyday forms, Pancake Epidemic has paired the Revé collection with specially commissioned ceramics from Los Angeles sculptor Brian Rochefort, who is known for the vivid and textual glazes that turn simple vessels into intriguing studies of transformation.
"I've taken the cylinder shape - the most basic form I can think of - and totally saturated it with as much color and texture and glaze as possible to bring it to life, "said Rochefort, whose work has been commissioned by Peter Marino, Dior ad Bill Blass.
Similarly, Chu's dimensional frames, unusual color selections and artful reinterpretations transform the function of eyewear. Her eyewear's evocative gradient and mirrored lenses and detachable elements elevate the designs into wearable art.
